Why is the stretch film static?

Stretch film is the deformation stress generated by mechanical stretching device or manual stretching of the film at normal temperature to tightly wrap the goods for transportation. A packaging method for storage is a very popular packaging form internationally

The stretch film adopts imported resin and advanced extrusion film production technology. It has the characteristics of good tensile properties, tear resistance, strong penetration resistance, high transparency, good self-adhesion and high shrinkage rate, tight packaging and no looseness. Can be widely used in chemical raw materials, fertilizers, food, mechanical and electrical products, light textile products and other single-piece or tray packaging and other strapping packaging.

Why is there static electricity on the stretch film? The main reasons are as follows.

1. Static electricity generated during the production of stretch film

Due to the friction between the pellets, the melt and the die, and the guide roller when the film is rolled, it causes static electricity at the factory. Therefore, antistatic agents should be added during the production of stretch film to eliminate this part of static electricity.

2. Static electricity generated during printing, compounding, slitting and bag making

Because of the friction between the stretch film and the guide roller, the high speed running stretch film and the friction of dry air, etc., the static electricity is generated on the winding film. This part of static electricity has the greatest impact on production, and if it cannot be effectively eliminated, it will also have a great impact on the post-processing process. Generally speaking, the use of superconducting electrostatic brushes (contact elimination) is more effective. It is to contact the wound film, and the generated static electricity is discharged through the brush with a low resistance to ground. In the form of an ionizer, the generated ions are blown onto the film in the form of wind. However, in actual operation, while removing the static electricity carried by the wound film, the ion gas will find that the running wound film will also carry a part of the electric ions in the air into the winding.

3. The static electricity generated by the finished stretch film on the automatic packaging machine

The friction between the finished winding film and the equipment guide roller, and the winding film itself has not been completely eliminated from static electricity. Causes automatic packaging difficulties and the required contents are sensitive to static electricity. At this time, you can also take the above measures to eliminate static electricity. The most effective way is also to eliminate the superconducting electrostatic brush.
