Introduction of mask with breathing valve

A mask with a breathing valve breathes relatively smoothly, and it is easy to expel the effective lung air out of the mask. When inhaling, the breathing valve is closed, and the gas enters through the mask fabric. When exhaling, the breathing valve opens and the gas comes out, so it is a one-way valve. It can lower the temperature inside the mask and bring unique coolness. Masks with breathing valves are suitable for long-term occupational protection or anti-smog.

Do I need to use a mask with a breathing valve?
The breathing valve (usually an exhalation valve) has a valve inside. When you inhale, the valve closes; when you exhale, the valve opens. The breath exhaled by the wearer is directly discharged into the surrounding environment without being filtered. Therefore, masks with breathing valves are only one-way protection, only protecting the person wearing the mask, but not the people around the person wearing the mask. It is mainly used in industrial dust masks and anti-smog (PM2.5) masks, and Not applicable to medical institutions. The presence or absence of an exhalation valve does not affect the respiratory protection of the wearer. Simply put, N95 with an exhalation valve can protect the wearer but not the people around it. If you are a virus carrier, it is recommended to use N95 without an exhalation valve to avoid spreading the virus. If you want to maintain a sterile environment, you can't use N95 with an exhalation valve, because the wearer may exhale bacteria or viruses.

The use time of masks with breathing valves depends on the situation. The mask is dirty, damaged, or the resistance increases, causing breathing difficulties, etc. The mask needs to be replaced. Factors affecting the service life of masks include damaged nose clips, loose headbands, deformed masks, odorous or dirty masks, and increased breathing resistance. When this kind of situation occurs, it should be replaced in time.
